The year 2015 is slowly but surely coming to its end, and I’m sorry to say that it's clear now that we won’t be able to finish the English version of Resurrection before the end of the year. Even though we’re working as hard as our respective schedules allow, by the end of the year, or latest by the end of January, we will only have finished the actual translation. Afterwards, we’ll still need a bit more time to finish the proofreading and testing. This makes the new estimated release period the first quarter of 2016.
The proofreading has been progressing at a steady pace for some time now. We have checked and corrected all the texts from Albuquerque, the largest city in the game, and are also almost done proofreading Corath. Some proofreaders unfortunately no longer have time for Resurrection, and so in order to keep proofreading from falling too far behind the actual translation, we’ve recruited a new team member – a proofreader who goes by the nickname Resido.
On behalf of the whole Resurrection team I wish you happy holidays. I’ll see you again next year with more news about the translation.
I officially welcome Blodcyning, the third proofreader in our team, who's already for several weeks been working on the proofreading of Albuquerque's texts. In addition, he's now also prepared a short video from the game for you.
We have had a game sample here on our website before of a Resurrection quest in the form of screenshots with descriptions, but it was from a work in progress version of the game prior to release, and the English text was just temporary, so it didn't match the final form and quality of Resurrection. Since then a lot has been changed. So we've pulled it out from our website, and instead we have prepared an up to date demonstration from another quest for you, this time in the form of video. In it Blodcyning will show you a side quest from Corath and how it can be solved through three different ways, so you can see what you can expect from Resurrection. Link to the video here.
First and foremost, thanks to everyone who wrote to us to offer help with the proofreading of the English texts. We've heard from quite a few of you, especially after the announcement of Fallout 4 :) We appreciate your offers. I tried to reply to everyone who wrote to our email email@example.com; hopefully I didn't forget anyone. If you haven't received a reply yet, please check your spam folder - some of our responses landed there in the past. And so, our proofreading team has grown from just Michael to also include Aaron Campbell, and they will soon be joined by a third person. Therefore, we now have enough proofreaders for a timely completion of the translation, i.e. this year.
The actual translation has also made good progress since the last time. Most importantly, we've finished the translation of Albuquerque, the biggest city in the game, whose size was definitely also reflected in the number and length of the associated texts. There were in the end three translators working on it. Another significant milestone is the translation of the city of Corath, which is currently also being proofread.
