Fallout 1.5 Resurrection forum

I found Rachel's(the New Hope doctor's wife) necklace in the cave and I want to help the father of the thief. So what do I have to do with the necklace exactly?

Plant the necklace on the Doctor's wife, or in the shelves behind her. Then ask her to search again.

EDIT:I planted the necklace in Rachel's bookshelf and then nothing happened. The father of the thief won't acknowledge that I helped him.

After planting, you should ask her to search again. Did you?

In that case you can't finish this quest.

How the hell are you supposed to plant the damned necklace? I cannot interact with the shelf behind her. He tolds me to leave her things alone, thief.

Using it on her does nothing either.

PS - Please disregard. How one is supposed to know "plant" is related to "steal"? LOL.

In RPGs "planting" or "reverse pickpocketing" something on a container/character usually requires sneaking.

It has been like this since Fallout and Fallout 2.

A little bit of spoiler for non-steal-tag characters.

[spoiler]use -PER item on rachel, around 4-7, then use steal on that bookcase. Supposedly lower Perception reduce the chance to realize thieving attempt in F2 and I try it here. 50% success.[/spoiler]
