Resurrection on Android

Post by oni »

Hello there.
I'm wondering if its possible to get resurrection to run on my android tablet? I've managed to get Fallout2 to work using DOS Box Turbo

1) Install DOS Box Turbo and DOS Box Manager
2) Install the GOG version of Fallout 2 onto my main PC
3) Download a Windows 95 Disk image compatible with fallout and a separate blank D drive image
4) Copy the installed game onto this D Drive image
5) Setup dos box with the right config to boot the image
6) start up the image with dosbox and launch fallout2

Basically, its a simplified version of this: https://www.gog.com/forum/fallout_serie ... on_android and this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... st44730248

Issue is, I thought I'd try this trick with Resurrection. Installing with the installer and then copying the install directory over. Windows complains it cant find fores.dat

Has anyone else tried this at all?
Cheers!

You don't need to trick Resurrection installer, we provide archive version as well. See here - http://resurrection.cz/en/download/
Just unpack it into Fallout 2 folder and then run Fallout 2\Resurrection\fores.exe file. Since it complains about fores.dat file, do you have fores.dat file in Fallout 2\Resurrection folder?

But I don't know if it's possible to run Resurrection this way, I would say that it propably isn't. Resurrection requires Sfall in order to run properly and current Sfall only works on Windows XP services pack 3 and above.
I see that in Killap’s unofficial fallout 2 patch and in Fallout 2 Restoration Project are older versions of Sfall, but I wouldn't expect Resurrection work with Windows 95-98-ME version of Sfall.

Yeah, killaps patch I did need to use I think and although Fallout2 seems to work fine, as you say, resurrection may not. S'no problem though - was just a thought. Cheers
