There's also an access violation message when I open the save.
Save structure must be different.
I said F12se, not old F2se.

Yes. There's a good reason why I posted the steps in my previous post in this thread.

  1. Create a DATA folder in Resurrection folder.
  2. Copy resdata\SAVEGAME folder to DATA.
  3. Make a copy of fores.cfg and rename it to fallout2.cfg.
  4. Make a copy of fores.dat and rename it to patch000.dat.
  5. Copy fallout2.exe from your FO2 main folder to Resurrection folder, or make a copy of FALLOUT2 (no extension) in Resurrection folder and add .exe extension to it.
  6. Open F12se and set the path in File -> Settings (you can press F12) to Resurrection folder, done.
Just remember to copy your edited save slots back to resdata\SAVEGAME.
Omg you are genius, thx for done great work

Does anyone know if I can edit my companions with it?
If so how?

I think I have done something wrong:

EDIT:
Nevermind, I have corrected the problem.

EDIT2:
I've noticed a weird thing. Each time I exit game from edited save I get memory error. Game still saves and loads normally.

so i followed the instructions, making sure to use the correct editor, and the first time, it brought up the stats, let me edit and save them, but it didnt show any changes in game. i exited, and went back, and now for most of the tabs in the editor, its all blank. anyone have any ideas what i did wrong? i followed the instructions step by step and didnt edit anything except for special/perks

is there any how to on using a hex editor for this game? i am completely new to hex editing, but it seems like itll be the only way. plus, am i supposed to edit the individual save? or the main save.dat

or am i missing something when it says to 'load character'. couldnt find that option anywhere, but the one and only character ive made is in use

Damnit. Chrome keeps failing the download saying there's a virus....these false positives are annoying

The solution is real simple. You need the universal Fallout 1 +2 editor, F12se, not F2se. Once F12se is installed and running with Fo2 you just need to change a few settings. Firstly, find the settings menu and change the path to your Resurrection folder, then look below to the three blank fields in the override section. They should be labeled "fallout?.exe", "fallout?.cfg" and "fallout?.cfg [system] language". Ignore that last one. In the first field, "fallout?.exe", you need to type "fores.exe". Now, in the second field, "fallout?.cfg" you need to type "fores.cfg".

That's it. After doing that just apply the setting, close the program and reopen it just to be sure, and you should now see your Resurrection saves listed and available for full editing. A small warning, though; FoRes saves are a little less stable than Fo1 & Fo2 saves. Changing stats, perks, straits, skills and item quantities is fine, but creating new items or messing around with maps or trying to spawn the car into the game by setting its location to a discovered map can work but are likely to corrupt saves or make them crash upon loading. Editing an existing item in the inventory to make it something else should be fine, but is still a risk. Just make sure you always have a backup save in the next slot.
