Fallout 1.5: Resurrection

06.03.2008 Team expanding and new banners added

Thanks to our appeal for help, aimed especially at graphic artists, we got altogether three new team members, that are currently helping us with the necessary graphics elements of the game. As mere list of their names won’t tell you much, we’ve also decided to show you some examples of their previous work, which will introduce them better than any words. And so the new team members are: EDOGIE (sample here and here), EMI (sample here and here) and STEFIX (sample here and here). We welcome and thank them, for deciding to enrich the fallout community through Resurrection.

It is still possible that our team will grow even further in the close future, as recently two more potential team members have volunteered. We hope that their enthusiasm will last and that we can introduce them in the next update. However, even with the new help, there is still a lot of work to be done on the ending screens, and we are therefore welcoming any further help (even something small), especially with 3D graphics.

Moreover quite a few people asked us whether we are releasing any icons or banners for promotion of our site. We’ve decided to oblige (within our capacity) and made an icon and a banner, through which you can link to the Fallout 1.5 site or at least support it. You’ll find both together with the inserting code in a brand new section banners. Obviously they are not as perfect as they could be, but time’s not free, and so we are trying to invest as much as we can of it into the actual mod.

29.01.2008 A sample from an almost finished location

Recently we have finished scripting yet another location, which we are currently testing and tweaking. It’s always a great feeling to see all the design finally working within the game. To share some of this feeling with you, we have two new screenshots for you.

Maybe you will still remember a screenshot of a supermutant in a boxing ring from the previous version of webpages. Now you can see the same situation not in the mapper but already fully working in the game.

On the second screenshot we are showing what the consequences of attempting a surgery without sufficient medical knowledge might be.

Concerning new team members, since the last update two graphic artists contacted us, and we’ll hopefully be able to introduce them to you soon. Still the graphics work is relatively time consuming and we wouldn’t like to take our team members away from their current work, not to delay the project. If you feel like it and you have both time and graphical talent, not only in 3D, but also if you can for example draw, contact us. All help in this area would be really appreciated.

17.12.2007 New webpage and completing in sight

Welcome to our new webpage. We apologize for not updating the English section for so long, which probably created an impression that Resurrection is dead. This is not the case. The mod is still alive and as you can see, we changed the skin of its presentation and moved to a better hosting. We’ve also added new sections: FAQ and Cooperation . FAQ, which should keep us from repeating the same answers. In Cooperation you’ll find out who we are looking for, to help us with the project. The game sample is finally here in English, translated by JaW and recently returned Seto, who also took care of translating this whole webpage.

Most of the text, as well as screenshots, were updated. The oldest screen came from such an old version that we decided to remove it completely. Just because there are fewer screens available now than there were on the previous webpage, don’t think that we in any way cut down the content of Resurrection. Those locations in their current shape would simply give away too much.

Finally from the updates about the page, we would like to invite you to our forum.

The actual Resurrection should be released in the first quarter of next year and its English mutation, which will definitely come out later than the Czech one, some time before the half of the next year.

Before, we have announced the release date to be the end of the year, but as I have then mentioned, it was only an approximation. Release dates are hard to calculate, some of us couldn’t spend as much time on the mod as we would like to, and Resurrection isn’t something we would try to do as fast as possible, not thinking about the quality.

Since March the work definitely didn’t slow down, and in fact was going full throttle. As you’re probably more interested in the current state of development, we’ll try to be specific: All maps are done. Most of the texts are done with the last location being worked at right now. About 75% of all scripting is done. The graphics are mostly done, what remains are a few minor things as well as the ending screens. We’ll inform you about the progress of the development. We plan to post updates much more frequently than until now on the previous webpage.

So keep your fingers crossed… oh and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
