That's how I did it. I killed him, tried to loot the shelf, failed, raised the skill, disarmed the trap. All the stuff was there. But if the trap went off before you upgraded your traps skill then his goods were destroyed.

No problem, glad to contribute! Btw, I don't think the requirement for the Sedit's second ending are correct. I got it without killing any caravan owners. In fact, I only did a single quest in Sedit since my character was too stupid to talk to most people. That is probably Sedit's default ending.

I did it like this. I set the bomb near the generator on level 6 (to release the prisoners) and then let the guard take me to The Savior.
